UX news, tools & drools of Chris Lüders - Issue #4
The last week was crazy! I discovered the power of twitter threads 🧵 and gained more than 400 followers in 24 hours. Since my twitter followers grew, my newsletter subscribers grew as well. Welcome to all new people 👋
I think I will share more about freelance life soon since I am going back to freelancing in August! 🎉 I'm really looking forward to it and will share all insights I will get along the way.
I was freelancing before Covid, then I was in a permanent position and now I am back and stronger than before 😛
This time I want to share the most interesting tools and articles I found in the last couple of days. Let's go and I wish you a nice summer solstice! 🌞
🛠 Tools & Plugins
Status Annotations | Figma Plugin — www.figma.com
This is a tool I am using for a couple of days now, and I love it. It adds little status tags to your frames, to show (to yourself and others) in which state the design is.
Can it get some feedback already or is it still WIP?
Supa Palette | Figma Plugin — www.figma.com
This is the color palette generator I searched for. It works fine inside of Figma and has all features I need. I will definitely buy the pro license soon, to get all the a11y features.
Untitled UI Icons — The ultimate Figma icon library — www.untitledui.com
The Untitled UI design system kit is great already, but this icon set is a great addition to it. Lots of well-crafted icons for free.
🤓 Knowledge
Figma Shorts: 5 useful auto layout shortcuts — www.youtube.com
These are some nice auto-layout tricks, I didn't even know!
Atomic design 2022 | by Darren Yeo | UX Collective — uxdesign.cc
Interesting article about atomic design in 2022. I think atomic design isn't dead, it just needs some adjustments.
Build a Design System for an existing product in 4 sprints | by Oriol Banus | UX Collective
This is a very nice design-system building approach. Love it and will try it!
